First Girl Scout Campout In My life!!

Few Month ago in April, I have my first girl scout campout it was very fun

In the morning of the Girl Scout campout, I was so excited, and at school, I kept wishing time would fly by until my last class of the day, dance, one of my favorite 7th grade class, anyway, the moment I got on the bus head home, I was full of excitement. so, when my friend Kyla and I walked , I couldn’t stop asking her questions about the camp and everything! because I was super pumped and knew it was going to be super fun!!

When I got home, after packing my stuff, I couldn’t wait for my troop members to arrive. We were supposed to meet up at my house to decide on carpool arrangements. We decided Sceryniti, and I would ride with her mom and my dad in one car, and rest of others would ride Elinor’s car. Why? because Sceryniti and I decided we’re going to sing for the entire car ride, and you know, Emily, Kyla, and Elinor aren’t big fans of loud noises. but Sceryniti and I barely sang in the car. Maybe it was because I was still tired from school earlier.

About five minutes before reaching the campsite, my energy is back! Maybe it’s because I watched the Girl Scout’ YouTube channel intro that I made. Let’s skip ahead a bit since you’ll see some of it in the video… Oh wait, remember the cabin tour in the video? I actually already knew what the cabin looked like, so all that was staged, except for the part where we discussed our YouTube channel.

Fast Forward to the haunted cabin. being there was truly creepy but when I edited the video footage and rewatch the video, it didn’t seem scary at all, it was just a bunch of girls screaming in a dark old cabin. We also didn’t record our morning routine because the GoPro was almost dead and we wanted to save the battery for the most exciting parts of the camp, day 2!!
Day 2 which is probably the best day of the camp because we did a lot of fun activates except for B.B gun because it’s kind of boring to just keep shooting the same target for like 10 minutes and end up didn’t got any thing, so I don’t think that I want to do that again next time.

One of the team-building activities was fun! Basically we lined up on a log, and the counselor asked us our favorite animals. The goal was to get the troop in alphabetical order based on our favorite animal, If you weren’t in the right spot, you had to move across the log without getting off to reach your correct position. Since Emily and I were the last two in line at the beginning, but her favorite animal was dog and she don’t want to step across people so she decided that her favorite animal was zebra so she wouldn’t have to move.

Next up was the pirate ship! It was this big wooden structure with a bunch of ropes and climbing walls. The goal was to climb all the way to the top and ring the bell. I was a little nervous at first, not sure why but mostly excited. I made it all the way to the top and rang that bell and felt so proud! However, Kyla definitely took her time exploring the pirate ship and try out all the climbing course! However Sceryniti and I , just wanted to get to the top and ringing the bell as fast as possible. In the video, it looks like Kyla takes about 30 seconds to get off, but in reality, she was just sit there for like 5 minutes!

remember in the “Behind the Scenes Part 1” video when Kyla was talking about what she was excited about at camp, and Sceryniti said “Screaming Eagle”? Everyone else was like, “No!” Well, guess what? When it came time for the Screaming Eagle activity, none of our troop members wanted to do it! except for Sceryniti of course (By the way, we did group activities like the pirate ship, BB gun, and Screaming Eagle with three other troops because ours wasn’t big enough.) At first, I kind of don’t want to do it either, but I figured I should try it, because I never been here before so… I was so nervous about falling or dropping my GoPro in the water! I actually filmed the experience, but my hand was covering the lens the whole time, so I didn’t include it in the final video. Anyway, the moment they started pulling the rope, I was screaming for them to stop! But then, when I actually let go, it swung super slow, and I was super sad because it wasn’t fast at all, but it made me want to try it again next time, aiming to go much higher.

Ax throwing was really satisfying, although I’m not sure I’ll do it again because it was quite loud. after we did the Ax throwing it started to rain so we can’t do kayaking witch it one of the activity that I was most excited about and we can’t do it! šŸ˜¤

Anyways The day ended with a Girl Scout s’mores party! Different troops could perform skits or songs (if they want), and then we all roast marshmallows over a camp fires and make s’mores together. But, it rained so hard that we couldn’t have the campfire. That meant just eating plain marshmallows and hard chocolate with cookie, which kind of sucked. Luckily, my dad had the brilliant idea to bring a lighter so our troop could make delicious s’mores back at our cabin, so our troop decided to head back to our cabin after our performance to make delicious s’mores! We didn’t want to make everyone else jealous by having yummy s’mores while they were stuck with plain marshmallows and hard chocolate.

Right after our performance, the camp leader announced that everyone should head back to their cabins because of the heavy rain. Perfect! Now we can go back to our cabin and had a little party with our own troop, just like you see in the video. Later on, we started singing and remember that part in the “Behind the Scenes” video where I hit the record button with my chin? Well, that’s because I was using my hairbrush as a microphone at first. Kyla needed to brush her hair, though, and she forgot her brush, so I let her borrow mine. So you know I stated use GoPro as my microphone.

after all that excitement, we were all tired, so we went to sleep because tomorrow we need to wake up early and packed up our stuff.
Yay, it’s the last day! Even though I’m a little sad it’s over, I wish camp could have been a whole week! We were all super sleepy because we went to bed late, and the weather was freezing cold. No wonder we were feeling so lazy! We decided to skip breakfast and sleep in a bit longer so we could leave at the planned time without rushing. Everything else that happened that day is already been recording the video.

This camp was a lot of fun and a really good experience. I would love to come back again next time! Hopefully, it won’t rain so we can finally do kayaking. because I really want to try it out!

Here’s my list of activities for next year:
Pirate Ship (of course!)
Screaming Eagle (because I want to go even higher!)
Kayaking (Hopefully it doesn’t rain!)
Archery (I’ve never tried it, but it looks super fun!)
Team building activities (they’re required, and it’s not bad)

So These are all the things that happened in the camp champion camp out that wasn’t shown in the video and some of my thoughts about the camp!
